Clinical features included jaundice, hyperbilirubinaemia, pancytopaenia, including neutropaenia, lymphopaenia, and thrombocytopaenia, hepatosplenomegaly, and oesophageal varices. Some individuals had recurrent infections or features suggestive of an immunodeficiency. Liver biopsy was notable for the absence of cirrhosis and the presence of nodular regeneration.
