Red List (low evidence)

Biallelic SLC19A3 cause thiamine metabolism dysfunction syndrome 2 and an early-onset, Leigh-like syndrome. Leigh-like syndrome patient usually present in the first couple months of life, with brain abnormalities detectable by MRI. Patient have also been reported to develop disease in the second or third decade of life. At least 5 families reported.
